This website was designed as part of a grant project for Teachers For Global Classrooms, a division of IREX, from September 2011 - September 2012. Teachers For Global Classrooms, or TGC, is a part of the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs Division of the U.S. Department of Education which "
provides a professional development opportunity for middle and high school teachers from the United States to participate in a program aimed at globalizing U.S. classrooms through an online professional development course, two Washington, D.C.-based symposiums and a two to three week professional development exchange to one of the following countries: Brazil, Ghana, Morocco, India, Ukraine and Indonesia."
IREX, or International Research and Exchanges Board, "enables local individuals and institutions to build key elements of a vibrant society: quality education, independent media, and strong communities." IREX programs center around conflict resolution, technology for development, women and youth."
